Why two tents?

Today after driving 260 kms in direction of Luderitz (starting from Fish river Canyon), the weather suddenly changed in front of a small town called Aus. I saw the clouds coming to my direction and I felt the temperature dropping sharply. Hmm, not very nice as tonight I am sleeping in my tent!

I pitched my tent at Klein Aus Vista camping site. It was already raining. As it looks, the temperature will drop to 10C or even 5C during the night, I have to prepare, brrr.

Anyway, I am carrying two tents with me. Why two tents!!??
The reason is that if you have two tents you have following options:
1. You pitch both of the tents, around two meters from each other. Elephant approaches. Elephant wants to squash the tents but gets confused by which one of them is occupied and which one not. As elephant can't decide which tent to squash, he slowly leaves the scene.
2. You pitch one tent. It get's very cold. You go into the tent and use the other tent as a blanket.
